"La Superba" returns as the capital of sailing! Genoa will host The Ocean Race Europe 2025 for the second time. The regatta, which features the best offshore sailors, is a new chapter in the city's history with The Ocean Race: Genoa, in fact, hosted the finish of the 2022-23 edition of The Ocean Race. This was a historic event that set two records: it was the first time that the most extraordinary and toughest round-the-world race culminated in the Mediterranean, and the first time the fleet visited Italy.
In the wake of The Ocean Race, Genoa has taken on a leadership role in initiatives aimed at protecting the oceans through The Genoa Process, a series of seminars that led to the presentation of principles supporting ocean rights at the United Nations headquarters. The race itself is a breathtaking spectacle, with the IMOCA foiling boats driven by the world's best sailors. The race starts in Kiel, Germany, on August 10, then continues to Portsmouth, UK, and Cartagena, Spain. The arrival in Genoa is scheduled for September 3, while on September 7, the race will restart for Boka Bay, Montenegro. Many events are planned to accompany the race during the Genoa stopover. Read below!
Many initiatives at the Ocean Live Park
During the stopover, the Ocean Live Park will be open to the public (from September 3 to 7 in the Porto Antico di Genova spa areas), where enthusiasts, Genoese residents, and tourists will have the opportunity to meet The Ocean Race Europe teams and sailors, and learn about the importance of the ocean, the challenges facing European waters, and initiatives for raising awareness about ocean health and protection.

From September 3 to 5, the Blue District will also host a series of experiential stations each morning, designed to bring the public—especially younger audiences—closer to the world of science and the sea.
