Many events are scheduled in Genoa to celebrate the New Year! 

 

An amazing event will be “Tra Sogno e Realtà”. It will start in Piazza Matteotti from 10.45 pm. It is an evocative crossing of a tightrope walker - who moves on a steel cable – and it will turn into a concert. After midnight there will be a concert by Gnu Quartet.
A travelling performance of music and circus in the old town centre from 9 pm will forerun “Tra Sogno e Realtà".

 

At Porto Antico the night will start with the magic of circus, in a show which is part of Circumnavigando Festival; there will be music and dance, and the possibility to spend the last night of 2016 on the ice skating rink, at cinema and in one of the restaurants in the area.

On December 31, at Palazzo Ducale the exhibitions Warhol. Pop Society and Helmut Newton. Fotografie. White Women / Sleepless Nights / Big Nudes will remain open until 2:00 in the morning.

 

At New Year’s Eve the Acquario di Genova, in the Porto Antico area, offers to visitors  the possibility to experience the enchanted atmosphere of the sea bottom with a special night: an exclusive visit to the Aquarium, a buffet dinner in the beautiful frame of the Cetacean Pavillion and the midnight toast on the open air area of the stucture, with a suggestive view on the city and on the Porto Antico.

 

At Fiera di Genova there will be Psychiatric Circus, an uncommon show, a psychotic event, a journey into madness, a place where the meaning of things is totally upside down.

The theatres of the city offers a rich programme of shows to suit all tastes: at Teatro Stabile -  alla Corte I manezzi pe majâ na figgia (Plots to give a daughter in marriage) by Niccolò Bacigalupo; at Teatro della Tosse Candido, from Candide or the Optimisme by Voltaire (text by Tonino and Emanuele Conte); at Teatro Politeama Genovese the New Years Eve is with the Genoese comedian Maurizio Lastrico; at Teatro Govi in Bolzaneto (Capodanno al Govi…perché non provi? (New Year’s Eve at Govi…why don’t you try it?)

 

“Like in 1967 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart New Year's Eve” will happen in the ex Magazzini del Sale di Sampierdarena. It is a special Vintage New Year's Eve.

 

And for the youngest, but also for adults who want to become children again, a lot of fun at the big Funfair at Piazzale Kennedy!

 

 

On January 1 2017 the traditional New Year’s Concert will take place at the Teatro Carlo Felice, with the Teatro Carlo Felice Orchestra conducted by Alpesh Chauhan.
