Rolli Days Genova - maggio 2016
May 28 – 29
The UNESCO site “Genoa: Le Strade Nuove and the system of the Palazzi dei Rolli” forms an organic urban unit made up of late-Renaissance and Baroque streets and squares lined by over a hundred palaces belonging to the city’s noble families.
In 2016 Genoa celebrates the tenth anniversary of the inscription in the Unesco World Heritage List (2006-2016), with three special editions of Rolli Days, the days of extraordinary openings of many of the historic Palaces. The event proves itself as one of the most awaited appointments (the numbers of last April edition: 90.000 visitors in 2 days!)
The Rolli Days Genova 2016 in May will be focused on the opening of the "archeological path" connecting Palazzo Bianco with Palazzo Tursi, in Strada Nuova.
It is a real archeological garden, that allows visitors to discover the traces of the medieval Church of San Francesco in Castelletto. The ruins discovered during the recent excavating will be presented in a suggestive context. The work completes the itinerary of the most visited Art museum in Genoa.
In this edition, 24 palaces will be open, besides some of the villas built by the same families in the Eastern ad Western outskirts of the city.
