24-07-2016The Municipality of Genoa and the main cultural institutions of the city, coordinated by Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice, collaborated together to create this important event, that will take place in Genoa from May 7th to July 24th
18 locations in the city will become stages for performances, shows, workshops, exhibitions, presenting the different expressions and languages of the international ballet
Among the events scheduled: the themes from the classics and the traditional characters, seen through modern eyes (Orfeo Rave, Carmen K, Otello); the tribute to one of the most sensual kind of dance, with the 17th International Tango Festival; different original choreographies, which propose alternative ways of performing using the different body expressions (for example MM Microcosmo Mozart and Everyone Gets Lighter|All!).
On July 3 don’t miss the big event of the festival: the show Amore with the great international étoile Svetlana Zakharova.
Another important section of the Festival is the show “Fuori Formato” with over than 30 artists involved. A space for experimentation and research of the most interesting proposals in the field of the Ligurian contemporary dance (with the participation of Teatro Akropolis, Collettivo Augenblick and Rete Danza Contempoligure.
On display at Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura the photography exhibition “Serge Lido. Danza con me” (Serge Lido. Dance with me): Serge Lido was one of the most world famous photographers of the dance world in the Twentieth Century.
The Festival also grant the possibility to take part in masterclasses and performances: the Big Dance Pledge (for dancers and enthusiasts from 3 to 60 years old), Stage Internazionale di Danza, Stage di Ammonia Danza.
During Genova Outsider Dancer the contemporary dance will enliven all the city: in fact the shows will take place at Teatro Carlo Felice, but also in the museums, streets, squares and porticoes of the city.
The event is the result of a collaboration between different istitutional parttners: Teatro Carlo Felice, Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura, Fondazione Luzzati – Teatro della Tosse, Teatro Stabile di Genova, Goethe-Institut Genua, Associazione Genova Tango, Porto Antico di Genova S.p.A.
