The parks and museums of Nervi

Palaces and villas, home to some of the city’s most prominent museums, embellish a natural landscape of undisputed beauty; and it is this close relationship between art and nature that led to the creation of the Nervi Museum hub.

The Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Villa Saluzzo Serra, the Raccolte Frugone in Villa Grimaldi Fassio, the Museo Luxoro and the new location of the Wolfsoniana Museum can all be visited along  the pleasant walking route that runs through Nervi's extensive historic public parks, featuring Mediterranean and exotic plants and linked to the prestigious, recently restored rose garden of Villa Grimaldi Fassio, from which visitors can take in the magical presence of the sea. The parks offer shelter from the summer heat, as well as the chance to take a stroll with the family or simply relax on a bench with a good book.

A unique exhibition itinerary links collections of art from the seventeenth century to the present day to the decorative arts of the residence-museum of Villa Luxoro, as well as to the refined collections of paintings and sculptures of the Raccolte Frugone in Villa Grimaldi Fassio and the revamped Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Genova, in Villa Saluzzo Serra.

A richly intriguing look over the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring superb displays of furnishings, glass, silver, paintings and sculptures dating to between 1880 and 1945 can be seen in the Wolfsoniana Museum. And along the path between the villas, visitors can also admire a stunning landscape that has no equal anywhere in Europe.
