This is one of the best-preserved forts of those that formed the 19th-century defence system of the city of Genoa.

Located in a spectacular setting overlooking the entire "Parco delle Mura", the fort has been used for several years now by Genoa Town Council as an observation point to spot wildfires.
Puin Fort also serves as a shelter and meeting/resting place for school groups and hikers.
