A beautiful scenic park surrounds this fairy-tale, neo-Gothic Castle, built on the bastion of Montegalletto, perched over the horizon of the sea.  Originally the residence of Captain Alberto D'Albertis, a navigator, explorer and scholar, the complex now houses the Museo delle Culture del Mondo (Museum of World Cultures).

The park can be reached from the historic centre via the old public lift of Montegalletto, which runs on a unique system combining horizontal and vertical movement.
