1st meeting "Focus on Upper and Lower Airways Diseases"
Respiratory disorders affecting the upper and lower respiratory tract, in particular rhinitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are very common diseases, associated with a high rate of spread and considerable social costs.
COPD is a major cause of disability and thus constitutes a substantial economic burden, whenever an allergic rhinitis is under-diagnosed and under-treated or cured by auto-medication. In recent years, significant developments have occurred regarding the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches (for example to define the Component Resolved Diagnosis (CRD) for the treatment of allergies, biologics for severe asthma and effective new drugs for inhalation COPD). The focus of the meeting is therefore to provide an update on these issues, with sections specifically dedicated to rhinitis, asthma and COPD and a discussion of the latest developments on the "hot topics" and on the needs yet to meet. It has been made a special organizational effort in order to ensure the presence of the most important scientists and doctors, not only from Italy but also from the rest of the world, so as to ensure a high quality scientific program.
