The 98^th edition of the Giro d’Italia will start from Liguria, with a first step in stopwatch on the bike path between San Lorenzo to the sea and Sanremo (May 9). On May 10 the tour will arrive in Genoa with the stage Albenga-Genova (173 km).

The riders will race three loops of a 7.5km circuit. Major areas crossed: Albenga, Alassio, Pietra Ligure, Finale Ligure, Noli, Savona, Celle Ligure, Varazze, Sciarborasca, Arenzano and Genoa.

On this occasion, Genoa will turn pink, from the fountain in Piazza de Ferrari to the city centre, where a lot of events will welcome the Tour.
