Treasure Museum of St. Lorenzo Cathedral

On display in the underground rooms of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo are masterpieces of gold craft and sacred art from the 11th to 19th centuries, as well as silver artefacts of exceptional artistic importance, all bound up with the cult of the Cathedral and the history of Genoa.

Among the museum's most important pieces are the Sacro Catino, a 9th-century glass vessel; the Byzantine Croce degli Zaccaria reliquary; the Chest of the Ashes of St. John the Baptist, and other objects related with the cult of John the Baptist.
