28-04-2018The guided tours of the Cemetery of Staglieno in April 2018 will take place on April 8th at 10 am and April 28th at 3 pm
It is considered one of the most fascinating and beautiful cemeteries in Europe and it is a real open air museum.
In Staglieno many burgeois and other citizens of Genoa are buried next to many foreigners who lived there (among them the wife of Oscar Wilde).
The gallery and the porticato of the Monumental Cemetery are crowded with hundreds of monuments that will immerse the visitors in the culture and costumes of the Genoa of the XVIII century, while the Boschetto Irregolare itinerary was inspired by Romantic gardens motifs and here can be found the graves of Mazzini, of the Mille and other heroes of the Risorgimento.
Tours timing: almost one hour and an half. There is no need for a reservation.
The meeting point is next to the Statua della Fede.
The proceeds of the tours will be destined to the restoration of the sculptures of the cemetery.
In case of weather alert for severe conditions (Allerta Rossa), visits will not take place.
In case of cemetery’s closing for wind alert, visits will take place in covered places.
