Water Projects - Renzo Piano

Calendary Dal 26-09-2015 al 01-11-2015

Progetti d’acqua” is an exhibition displaying projects by architect Renzo Piano that will be held at Museo Navale in Pegli from September 26 to November 1 (from Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., free entrance), organised by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Pegli Live and CUP.

The exhibition path starts with the 1960s drawings of the ships that would be built first in the architect’s house garage and then in the Mostes shipyards in Prà. The visitors’ attention is then drawn to those important projects, in which water is the key element, that gave Renzo Piano international fame. These include Kansai airport in Japan (1988-1994), the design of the Jean-Marie Tjibau Cultural Centre in Nouméa, New Caledonia (1991 – 1998) and the renovation of Potsdamer Platz in Berlin (1992-2000).

A special place is dedicated to the projects for Genoa, including the reopening of the Porto Antico on the occasion of the 1992 Columbus Celebrations, the reorganisation of the port area presented in 2014 and the very recent project for a new control tower, which will be shown for the first time.
