On October 13th and 14th Genoa celebrates the Rolli Days, October 2018 edition: a voyage through the splendours of the Renaissance and Baroque style in Genoa discovering sumptuous estates which belonged to the Genoese aristocracy and were built to demonstrate its finesse, elegance and richness. Dozens of magnificent palaces, beloved by Rubens, which became part of the UNESCO World Heritage in 2006.

As always, these richly decorated buildings, full of history, will open to the public to unveil the secrets of Genoa and its families.

As every year, it will be possible to visit many buildings of the historical center of Genoa and Strada Nuova; some new features are also planned:

Villa di Negro-Rosazza (Piazza di Negro 3) will open to the public for the first time. The building is a precious example of architecture, sculpture and painting, as well as the suburban home of the rich Ambrogio di Negro, whose city residence can be visited, during the same days, in Via San Luca 2.

Villa Pallavicino delle Peschiere (Via San Bartolomeo degli Armeni 5) will be open only on Saturday 13. A home loved by Dickens and decorated by Bergamasco and Luca Cambiaso, as well as the home of the powerful Tobia Pallavicino, whose city ​​residence was in Via Garibaldi 4.

Two absolute novelties among the palaces: Palazzo Franzone Spinola (Via Luccoli 23) with its (never shown to the public until today) eighteenth-century frescoes by Domenico Parodi; and Palazzo De Mari (Via Luccoli 26).

Palazzo Gerolamo Grimaldi (Palazzo della Meridiana) - Salita San Francesco 4
The entrance hall and "Salone del Colonnato" will be open from 10 am to 7 pm with Free Entry
"Salone Cambiaso" will be open from 12 pm to 7 pm with a 3 euros ticket.
It will be possible to visit the "Macchiaioli Exhibition" from 10 am to 7 pm with a reduced ticket - €8
It will be possible to visit both "Salone del Cambiaso" and the "Macchiaioli Exhibition" with a cumulative ticket - €11.

Visitors can visit the buildings by themselves, in the order and number they prefer, being able - if they wish - to count on the knowledge of Scientific Disclosers and Students of the University of Genoa.


However, guided tours will also be available. For a fee, visitors will have a guided tour to a selection of the palaces: in Italian, in English, and for families with children. It is possible to purchase the visits online on www.visitgenoa.it, or in person at the IAT offices.

This edition of the Rolli Days 2018 takes place during an October dedicated to Paganini, thanks to the Paganini Festival and the opening of the great "Paganini Rockstar" exhibition (Palazzo Ducale, 19 October 2018 - 10 March 2019).
For this reason even the Rolli Days will be full of musical events - soon updates on the program.

Teatro Carlo Felice - Passo E.Montale 4: free guided tours for groups of up to 30 people at a time. Departures every 30 minutes.

Monumental Complex of St. Ignatius (State Archives)
- Via Santa Chiara, 28R
The monumental complex of Sant'Ignazio, since 2004 headquarters of the State Archive of Genoa, consists of three buildings: the villa of the De Franceschi family, a convent building added by the Gesuiti to host the novices, a church built at the service of Noviziato, dedicated to S. Ignazio from which the whole complex takes its name.

The complex opens for the Rolli Days Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October, from 9.30 am to 6 pm.
- Exposition of the original "Rolli": guided tours every 30 minutes
- Guided tours of the "Schiavi" exhibition at 9.30 am - 12 pm - 2 pm - 4.30 pm
- Guided tours of the Sant'Ignazio complex and its heritage at 11 am and 3.30 pm
 
Albergo dei Poveri - Piazza E.Brignole: one-hour guided tours, every thirty minutes, from 10 am to 6 pm - ticket €3, no booking is required.

Collection of Banca Carige - Via Cassa di Risparmio 15 - Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 hours 10 am -7 pm
In the rooms of the building it is possible to admire the art collection that Banca Carige has established over the years, mostly coming from ancient Genoese palaces.

For the Rolli Days the Carige headquarters will host the exhibition:
The Holy Family of Van Dyck and the other Nordic paintings by Banca Carige
The "Holy Family with Saint John" by Antoon Van Dyck restored and recovered to the original charm is exceptionally exposed to the public along with works by Peter Paul Rubens, Hyeronimus Gerards, the enigmatic Monogrammist RG - mysterious artist from the Nordic tract and daring Caravaggesque figure - of the brothers, art dealers and painters, Cornelis and Jan De Wael, entertainers and "manager" of the Flemish koinè under the Lantern.
Free guided tours.

Concert
Saturday 13 at 11 am - Via Cassa di Risparmio 15 - courtyard (in case of rain the concert will be held on the XIV floor)

Cloister of San Matteo - Piazza di San Matteo: the Cloister will be open Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 from 10 am to 7 pm. Visitors will be able to count on the knowledge of scientific disseminators.
