The exhibition shows to the public a series of paintings of great interest, part of which never shown before, all of them recently restored thanks to private sponsorship (a particular thank to Studio Legale Rubini Milano) and with the contribution of important national and international museums.
Refined Italian and Flemish paintings from the XVI century, on panel or copper, stay next to masterpieces of Genoese Masters of the early XVII century and the Baroque period - among them Simone Barabino, Domenico Piola, Gregorio e Lorenzo De Ferrari - and next to paintings of Piedmontese and Lombard origin, like the sumptuous Carlo Francesco Nuvolone and the uncommon female painter Orsola Maddalena Caccia.
The paintings still without a name or of recent attribution are a challenge for the scholars to guess names and comparisons that will be taken into account in the scientific catalogue that ,for this reason, will be published only at the end of the exhibition.
Other works, these too recently restored on the same terms, have not been displaced and can be seen along the usual visiting course, so that the exhibition continues to different rooms of the Musei di Strada Nuova.
