DEMOLITION OF PILLARS 10 AND 11 OF THE MORANDI BRIDGE - Temporary changes to the road and train system

On June 28th, the pillars 10 and 11 of the Morandi Bridge will be dynamited, therefore the city roads and the train system will be subject to temporary variations in order to protect the safety of tourists and citizens.
 
On June 28th, please follow the specific road sings to move across the city and avoid the forbidden area.

 

If you travel by car you will encounter the following variations:

Ge-Nervi Exit (A12) – City Centre - Port - Airport - Ge-Sestri P. Exit (A10): this itinerary remains unchanged.

Ge-Nervi Exit (A12) – City Centre - Port - Airport - Ge-Bolzaneto Exit (A7): the itinerary will be diverted exclusively on the right side of the Polcevera torrent.

Ge-Est Exit (A12) – City Centre - Port - Airport – Ge-Sestri Exit (A10): this itinerary remains unchanged.

Ge-Est Exit (A12) – City Centre - Port - Airport –Ge-Bolzaneto Exit (A7): the itinerary will be diverted exclusively on the right side of the Polcevera torrent.

 

From 7 am to 10 pm, it is forbidden to stay in the area included within the range of 300 meters from pillars 10 and 11 for the entire duration of the demolition operations.

From 8 am to 3 pm, it is forbidden to stay outside within the range of 400 meters from pillars 10 and 11.

 

If you travel by train you will encounter the following variations:

 

On June 28th, there will be no change on Regional and long-distance trains on the lines Genoa-Milan/Turin/Emilia R. and La Spezia/Genoa/Ventimiglia. Only a few lines will be subject to changes as follows:

  • On the Genoa/Ovada/Acqui Terme line: Genova Borzoli, Genova Costa di Sestri Ponente, Genova Granara, Genova Acquasanta and Mele will be attainable just with AMT or ATP buses; for the other stops integrated transport will be guaranteed from Genova Pra’ to Ovada, from Ovada to Acqui Terme the rail service will be functioning (the Regional train 6051 will be replaced by a bus tra Acqui and Genova Pra’ and a bus from Ovada to Genova Brignole);
     
  • On the Genoa/Busalla/Arquata Scrivia/Novi Ligure line: the trains will circulate from the station of Genova Rivarolo and Busalla; the trains of the line Genoa – Arquata/Novi Ligure will not stop at Genova Rivarolo and Genova Sampierdarena (attainable by train on the Genoa-Savona line); at Genova Bolzaneto and Genova Principe the trains might be subject to delays or postponements. The timetable remains unchanged.
