Strada Nuova Museums - Palazzo Rosso
Palazzo Rosso will, starting in December 2019, undergo a major upgrade to some of its plant as well as some structural work. The delicate operation to make room for the construction site will, unfortunately, make it necessary to close for a period. At it’s reopening, the halls of the Palace will have been equipped with modern systems to meet the new technological needs of the exhibitions, indispensable for one of Genoa’s most important and popular museums.
At the conclusion of the work, Palazzo Rosso will be equipped with a new and more appropriate lighting. The work concerns primarily the technological modernization and upgrade of plant (hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and special), with the adjustments necessary to accomodate the use of computer networks which will allow us to offer a richer visit than was possible in the past.
On display in Palazzo Rosso, a noble residence decorated with valuable furnishings and frescoes by Liguria's greatest painters of the 17th Century, is a rich gallery of paintings, collected over more than two centuries by the noble Brignole-Sale family.
Artists featured in the gallery of this aristocratic Genoese mansion include Dürer, Veronese, Guercino, Strozzi, il Grechetto, Van Dyck and many others.
