Museo del Tesoro della Cattedrale di San Lorenzo

Liguria has returned to the "orange zone" from February 14.
Therefore, as part of the measures to combat the covid-19 outbreak, the Museums and places of culture remain closed, and the exhibitions in these places are suspended, until further notice.

On display in the underground rooms of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo are masterpieces of gold craft and sacred art from the 11th to 19th centuries, as well as silver artefacts of exceptional artistic importance, all bound up with the cult of the Cathedral and the history of Genoa.
Among the museum's most important pieces are the Sacro Catino, a 9th-century glass vessel; the Byzantine Croce degli Zaccaria reliquary; the Chest of the Ashes of St. John the Baptist, and other objects related with the cult of John the Baptist.
