The exhibitions are suspended until 13 April 2020 in accordance with Dpcm 198 of 8 March 2020.
From November 15th 2019 the Loggia degli Abati of Dodge's Palace is where the exhibition dedicated to the famous american director Alfred Hitchcock takes place.
Since 120 years from his birth, Genoa pay homage to him by using photos and videos which take the visitor on a fascinating journey into the backstage of one of the most important movies directed by Hitchcock and produced by Universal Pictures: a way to discover curious things about the most famous movie scenes, the special effect used during the shooting and the private life of the director and his actors.
Among the movies collected in the exhibition, we mention:
- Psycho, which let the visitors see the backstage of the Motel Bases, and then meet the protagonist Norman and also know some things about the very famous shower scene;
- The Birds, with an entire room dedicated to special effects, both for the creation of the birds and also for the sounds;
- Rear Window, which also has a dedicated space;
- Vertigo, with amazing shots of San Francisco.
There's a part of the exhibition which is dedicated to an important ingredient for Hitchcock's movies' success: music. Also the exhibition provides a section dedicated to study in deep the relationship between Alfred Hitchcock and Liguria (a scene of the movie "The pleasure Garden" was shot at the Maritime Station of Genoa).
